Ukraine Water Relief
Beaufort’s three Rotary clubs — the Rotary Club of Beaufort, Sea Island Rotary Club, and the Rotary Club of the Lowcountry — have launched a campaign to raise $20,000 to replace a failing water tower that supplies clean drinking water to roughly 15,000 residents of Beaufort’s sister city, Ostroh, Ukraine, along with thousands of displaced Ukrainians who have sought refuge there since the war began. Through Rotary’s matching grant program, local donations could grow to nearly $72,000, turning every $100 gift into as much as $360 toward the project. This effort builds on a partnership that began in March 2022 and has already delivered more than $135,000 in humanitarian aid to Ostroh, and it reflects what the community itself identified as its greatest need: a dependable source of safe water. Every contribution helps bring that need closer to reality.
